Gonzo Gwerder re-signs with Piko
Local Batting Hero T G Werder after intense meetings with Ratapiko club officials has re-signed with Ratapiko for the upcoming season. Werder or Max Powers as he likes to be called refused a large financial offer from the Dutch Cricket Council, He was offered a sum believed to be close to $50 a practice to be a net bowler.
When interviewed Werder said that the money was a big draw card but he just couldn't leave the piko.
In other news Werder is hoping to avoid another embarassing year with the ball and has vowed to keep the bloody thing on the pitch.

Ratapiko Goes International
Ratapiko has all but signed English County Cricketer Matthew Sigurdsson for the upcoming season. If all goes ahead, Sigurdsson will be joining the club as a semi-professional* a few rounds into the competition.
Sigurdsson grew up in smalltown Inglewood, New Zealand and is very excited about getting back to his home country to play in Taranaki's Senior Competition. "I am very excited about getting home to play in Taranaki's Senior Competition" said Matthew in a recent interview.
Relations between Sigurdsson's previous club, Ryde, and Ratapiko are becoming increasingly good and there have been talks of the two clubs meeting halfway in Hyderabad for a twenty20 match.
Also, Sigurdsson's twin brother John has also showed interest in returning home from England to play for the Piko.
